Hey Men! During our summer semester of men's life group, we discussed the idea of continuing to meet on a weekly basis for fellowship, accountability, and just spending time talking about the Lord. I know that I am posting a little late, but we announced in last week's life group that we will begin meeting tomorrow morning at 6am - 7am in the youth room. I want to highly encourage all of our men to join us. We will have fresh coffee ready, and we will end in a timely manner for any of you who need to get back home to help get the family ready for church. Hope to see you in the morning. Love you! PG
Hey Lifers! I have been watching Barry's development throughout the day and have consulted with a number of people. Though we have not felt a great impact today from the storm, I believe it is best for us to cancel our worship gathering in the morning and Life Groups tomorrow afternoon. The biggest portion of the system has not made it out of the gulf yet and still poses a threat for our area overnight and through the day tomorrow. Ultimately, the biggest factor is the unpredictability of this unusual tropical system. So enjoy the time with your family. Have your own worship time at home. Hey Lifers, We are closely monitoring the weather conditions associated with Tropical Storm Barry and will continue to see how things transpire throughout the day tomorrow. We will make a decision about our Sunday morning worship gathering as soon as possible. As important as our weekly worship gatherings are, we want to be sure that our faith family remains safe this weekend. Continue to check our River of Life Facebook pages for updates, and please share the information with others who may not have Facebook. Please pray for God's protection for all who will be impacted by this storm. It is comforting to know that we serve the Master of the wind and the Maker of the rain. Hey Lifers, I hope you are having a great start to summer! This is my favorite time of the year. I like when my kids are out of school and home more, I like the warm weather (I am sure I'm in the minority), and I like taking my sweet wife to the beach. Our schedules, however, tend to get crazier than usual and get us out of our normal routine during the summer. Kids are out of school, families going on vacation, travel ball season is in full swing, and so many other things vying for our time. Consequently, churches tend to get in survival mode and just coast through the summer waiting for Fall to kick things back into high gear. I do not want that to be the case for us at The River. I believe the Lord wants to do great things in and through us this summer if we allow Him to. I am praying that this will be a season of growth and revival for us. In the midst of all the busyness, I pray that we approach these next couple of months with a fresh commitment and dedication to the Lord & the church. I encourage you to be faithful to attend worship on Sundays and Wednesdays as often as you possibly can and attend men's and women's Life Groups each Sunday in July. I also encourage you to faithfully serve in your area of ministry, or find a place to serve if you are not doing so currently . I want everyone to enjoy time with family and get those well deserved vacations this summer, but I also desperately long to see God bring a fresh wind of revival to His people at River of Life. May the Lord richly bless all of you. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow as we worship together on this Lord's Day. Love you!! PG

River of Life is providing and serving a meal in Crowley for the hurricane evacuees on Thursday, September 7th at 6pm. Here are the needs we have and how you can help: -5 homemade chili's (to serve 25/26 people)(Fannie and I are each doing one, so we need 3 more) -100 hot dogs (cooked please) -100 hot dog buns -10 bags of shredded cheese (8oz. bags) - 4 boxes saltine crackers - 6 cases of water (24 ct) - 100 bowls - 200 napkins - 100 forksons -100 forks ** We also need people to help serve the meal on Thursday. ***These are the total amounts needed. Hurricane Relief Opportunity! We have an opportunity to partner with other ministries who are assisting victims of the flooding in Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas. Anyone interested in donating items to help out flood victims can drop off their donations at River of Life tomorrow (August 31st) between 9am & 3pm. Suggested items include: - toothbrushes, tooth paste, deodorant, soap, shampoo, and feminine hygiene products - water and non-perishable food items (like jerky, protein bars, etc.) - flashlights, batteries, and glow sticks - blankets and bedding, pillows, air mattresses - diapers, baby wipes, and baby food. - hand sanitizer, first aid kits, and cleaning supplies - Clean clothes accepted, new clothes preferred - large towels & washcloths

We are pre-selling tickets which will include a burger, bag of chips and a drink for $5. Please comment below if you would like to purchase a ticket.
